Sounds right. Sure seems somebody via USDA was out to zap compost tea and
is still at it. No new CT task force (at least that we know about...), per
the Oct 20, 2002 NOSB meeting, is another pretty good indicator. Seems
like there are two choices: One to sit and wait for the USDA/NOP to do
something (?), or Two to get active on it via an NOP appeal. At this point,
I'd favor the latter... at least the NOP destiny of CT would be in our own
hands.
T'would probably be interesting and some fun to introduce a little more
democracy into the NOP, but it would not be either cheap or easy. A
successful appeal needs a couple of certified or certifying operations
willing to step up, as well as a private certifier and a state certifier, I
estimate, legal work, lots of paperwork, science and perseverance, and some
working with politicians, but where else are we getting in the meantime?
How about "Certified To Insure Apoplexy?" (or an attempt at it, as it were)
Thanks, Nicole, for the incredible list of interpretations. Are you a
walking dictionary or what?
An appeal would likely eliminate CTIA at the same time, I think. USCC is
not a strong or quality organization, imo.
How about we form our own organization? It's not that hard to do --
"Aerated Tea Makers and Movers" maybe?
