Hi folks,
As many of you know, I am a big proponent of
growing fungi in whatever compost you use BEFORE making tea with it.
Several on this list have been able to successfully grow fungi in their
compost, however, none of us has tested (or published tests) the theory with SFI
tests.
I just ran the first test of some AH in which I had
grown fungi to my liking....nice, long white fungal threads with really good
"holding" power such that the humus held the form when dumped upside down from
its container.
The results of the preliminary SFI test just came
in and I posted them in the list's "File" section.....under "Lowe95550prelim."
With fungal numbers in the mid 30's both active and total (!), I
think we have the answer to getting a fungal tea. Check out the file and see
what you think! Note that I didn't add any sugars.....
I will wait for the final test results and run the
tests a few more times. However, I've made and tested enough teas to know that
this is no fluke. Pre inoculation, at least of AH, works.
Any one else TESTED a prebrew inoculated
compost/humus? If so, please share your results.
Cheers,
Jeff
