[compost_tea] Re: Ok for ceritifed organic use
I'm not sure who sent this post but I feel pretty confident that it was not
Jeff.
When we started formulating the nutrient mix to use in our tea (and sell to
users of our machines) I made sure that each ingredient was acceptable for
organic use. This does not necessarily mean OMRI registered. OMRI is a self
funding organization which charges, I believe, US$299 per product to be
listed.
I talked to my certification inspector about labelling. He suggested that
even though all the ingredients were approved , I should apply for a
separate approval of the blend. More money and paperwork but I am doing it.
I understand the concern about losing your certification. I have been
offered products under generic names such as "carbon" what is it ? molasses
? humate ? they won't tell me, I didn't buy it - simple.
