[compost_tea] Re: EPM brewer and need for heater
Hi Jody and all-I was still a bit apprehensive running my EPM brewer
yesterday and last night, temps around 6-8 C. Probably quite a bit
cooler than California, so I stuck in a fairly small aquarium heater
and set it at 18 C or so as insurance.
Starting with fairly warm water, it has come down to 20 C in there
this morning. This is what Bruce Elliot told me, too--the pump motor
imparts heat to the water as it's flowing by, so no need for a heater.
Seem to recall a statement about these pump type brewers adding heat,
whereas air bubbling types cool off the brew thru evaporation (?)
