Thanks
Nice
information on nematodes. You
know I am thinking for the next crop to go with the new concept of Biofumigation in which you plant a
crop like Fodder Radish or Indian Mustard ( brassicas )
with a high content of Glycosinolate ( GSL) with
high density like 35 kg of seeds per hectare as a winter crop and then Plow
them under and let the myrosinase enzyme degrade GSLs
into Isothiocyanates (ITCs). Those compounds are extremely toxic to nematodes and their control is just as good as a chemical nematicide like Methyl bromide, Vapam, etc… Jose http://msucares.com/newsletters/pests/infobytes/19981209.htm http://www.hortnet.co.nz/publications/nzpps/proceedings/95/95_204.htm http://www.aces.edu/department/ipm/Nematode.htm http://www.bondy.ird.fr/pleins_textes/pleins_textes_5/pt5/nemato/30510.pdf http://www.ces.uga.edu/pubcd/l209-w.html Tom Jaszewski www.livesoil.com 702-595-7012 -----Original Message----- Hi Jose,
