Re: [compost_tea] CT effect on wine

Anthony,
Brix should  be the same for the entire plant if it is functioning properly, I have found the easiest for grape vines is to take the petioles of the newest mature leaves, the leaves a difficult to get juice from.
Test regularly ie at the same time of the day. Test Brix before CT application and then 45 mins after. Leave a control area if possible. there needs  to be 2 hours sunshine min prior to application. Also a few days of low sunshine will lower Brix in most vineyards, so make sure it has been plenty of sun the few days prior to testing. It would be really useful if you were able to record the brix and post the info.
Regards Mike Harvey.
