Ryan -
Thanks for pointing to David Doud's work regarding
on-farm mycorrhizae production. He is raising pre-colonized
bahiagrass in containers filled with compost + vermiculite
to increase native mycorrhizae. The resulting myco-rich
media can later be used in potting mixes or amended
to transplant holes, furrows, or planting beds.
That is pretty darn practical, and it works!
It also alludes to using soil from rich sections of
the forest floor for special myco cultures, which is
similar to the Korean indigenous microorganism technique
known as IMO.
The New Farm.org website just posted a nice article with
details, as part of a new series on "Cultivating diversity
underground for better yields above."
