Oliver -- Short answer is yes, especially if you add a little molasses -- no
more than .5% of water volume. You can actually make bacterial tea with any
compost, just want to make sure it's good compost to get beneficials. Need
to be careful with manures - all contain some E.coli (and others per animal
and feed) bacteria that have to be handled carefully. It always should be
well-composted or vermicomposted when used in a tea, imo. And don't use any
compost that doesn't smell good or is black - dark-dark brown is ok. I also
think it should feel good to your hand. Bad compost or un-composted manures
should be spread and stirred lightly (a rake works well) into soil in the
Fall and allowed to over-winter.

Any thoughts about why Matt's fungal recipe didn't succeed?
