Re: [compost_tea] Re: Tilling
Yesterday my spade type tiller broke down after one 100 yard run and, as i =
was desperate to get the two thirds of an acre tilled before i took off for=
the South Is of NZ on Sunday, I took up the farmer's offer to rotary hoe i=
t.
After watching him for a few minutes and seeing what it was doing to my soi=
l and microbes, I began to feel ill in the stomach and I hoped his hoe wou=
ld break down too. Well . . . . it did.
It was a blessing in disguise. We have just had about 3 inches of rain in 3=
hours and its still raining hard and water is running across the area.
Now I have to wait until the New Year to get my hoe repaired or find a repl=
acement. The hoe is probably as old as I am and they don't make them any mo=
re.

PS Any South Islanders in the group? I'd like to see other AACT makers in a=
