Re: [compost_tea] Re: What's the problem with dormant spores?
Whenever a company says great SFI results, please make sure that the product
SFI tested is what they are selling now.
Gorwing Solutions, for example, did testing with SFI on a previous machine
that they were making. It wasn't until that machine had been used for more than
4 to 5 brews that the problems started to occur. They don't show any of the
data from the later tea brews, do they?
that's why on the SFI website, we're doing (I hope my webmater has the pages
up by now!) time domcumentation of the tea machines. How do the tea machine
do over time?
Of course ,you have to clean them properly. Use good compost. Use enough
food, but not too much. You need to follow manufacturer's directions.
This list serve is the place to post data that shows what happens when you do
or do not follow directions. Doesn't have to be SFI data - you can post info
about how the plants responded, or tasted, or whatever you want. As long as
you back-up your claims with data, with solid information.
So, with people trying to sell you a product, be just a little bit
questioning before you buy.
