Betsy,
What kind of GPM are you getting with your centrifugal? psi? Are these adjustable? What size soilds is it passing? Can the pump run dry?
I have heard, from sources I do not recall, that compot tea is incompatible with hydroseeding equipment. Is this necessarily true?
Such equipment can be spendy, yet, has many adventageous features, mainly a canon which can really blast an area, from long range. And the machinery is capable of distributing seed, as well as OM, usually in the form of a paper pulp as I understand it, fairly evenly. Seems like good equip to me.
Ide like to put out a compost tea slurry, no more worrying about separation of the compost from the water (tea) at application, in fact, gimme more 1/4" screened compost. Whuddia think, a 10:1 ratio, compost to water. #'s or G's? I think ya could go relatively heavy on the compost. Agitation does'nt have to be a bad thing, as long as it doesn'y take place longer than necessary. High volume air is a sweet agitator. Plumb that sucker with a BobO 500G (or greater) air diffuser; holy cow!
I am also impressed by rigs outfitted to blow mulch. I think the applicator uses a 4-6" hose and walks around blowing mulch or compost. Really cool. The end of the hose also has a spray attachment. There is an approx 50G barrel on the rig which mulch applicators can fill with colorant to spray on the mulch as it is being blown. Gold was a popular color recently! Anyhow, this could serve as an interesting way to further innoculate material, such as compost, while having a super easy way of applying. Compost is making strides in the field of erosion cotrol. Very cost effective and works ten times as well as silt fence or hay bales. It stays put, does not necessitate removal and improves the land. How bout that?!
Pretty cool world. Just gotta reach those markets.
Anybody in Massachusetts, heck New England, the tri-state area... got a hydroseeder, let's run a test, I got some really sweet compost ya gotta see... and this kelp is crazy good... Humic Acids that are just awesome... fish!... andhave you seen this sea water stuff? I don't no all there is about it, but it looks sweet and the science behind it sounds good so far; I mean, it aint no Albrecht System, but we're workin' on it - thru a biological not just mineral approach. Accounting for the biolocical factor.. Has implications for rate reductions... which is economics. How bout yield? How bout quality? Comprehensive, Soil Biology AND Chemstry. The system works. Cool.
Ya know they can make fuel (known as BioDiesel) from 100% Soybeans (as well as other agricultural products) and its better than petro!?! Ya think a biological approach to soybean production might yield a higher density Soybean, just like it does potatoes? Could the bio fuel market benefit from nutritionally supperior ag just as well as human health?
I think I like bio fuel.
Yeah I started in one place and ended up in another. If ya care to conversate, write in yur own subject! Or get all over the map, too!
