thanks, since I have already spread it on in anticpation of spring :-).
But all this talk of pathogens in compost tea prompted me to obtain
perspective from the group.
It is no longer hot, but has been - not sure they temped it.

Why is it hot and what are the temps? 100+? If it is still
hot, it is still composting. There probably isn't enough carbon to make
a good balance. If it has been turned a lot, spreading it should not be
a problem. Yes, there are some pathogens but chances are that after
three months of turning they will not be a major factor. If you spread
it on the surface and water it in, the soil biology should take care of
the pathogens. All you are really getting here is N in a different
form.
Remember that the Romans made teas by flowing water over manure
and using that to grow everything including the plants where they
nurtured snails for consumption. There doesn't seem to be any historical
association with stomach problems among Romans. Now in England. . .

Question,
I have come across some composted cow manure - turned
with a small bulldozer for about 3 months, hot,and mixed only with a
small amount of wood shavings. There is virtually no manure smell nor
anaerobic odor to this mix.
