That is not true, the virus infects a computer and then goes through that
computers address book sending mail using the names in the address book as
both "to" and "from". There is not requirement in internet mail that the
"from" dress be legitimate.

Moderator here: Folks, if someone is telling you that they are getting
messages with you address in it, that is because you either have or had a
worm get into your address book. You need to immediately run a virus scan
on your email system including your address book, though it is probably too
late to do anything about it. The internet is both a wonderful and a scary
place, but it is free.
