Hi Bill,
If you are trying to transition your land to organic, than why not just
spread good healthy compost. Once you build up your organic matter
levels in your soil, many of the other benefits associated with healthy
soil will follow. Here at The Rodale Institute we have a long history
of assisting farmers with transitioning to organic production. We
maintain at our research center the longest running, comparative trial
of conventional and organic farming systems, called the Farming Systems
Trial (FST), which is now 23 years old. I would be glad to continue
this discussion about transitioning off the compost tea list if you
would like.
Sincerely,
Matthew Ryan

Well, Ryan, the purpose of our field trial is to determine what
works on this land in transitioning from conventional to organic
farming. Compost tea was recommended to speed up the enlivening of the
soil and perhaps to reduce the need for mineral ammendments. I did not
know of the foliar application till I subscribed to this list.

Hi Bill,
Just curious, what disease are you trying to prevent on your
soybean
crop?
Is there any other reason why you want to apply tea to soybeans
besides
disease suppression?
Sorry, but I do not know of any field trial reports that are
applicable
to your situation.
Thanks
