Hi Perry -

The molasses should move the critters in the right direction.
How much molasses did you spray out?  What did the plants do?  Color?  Heathiness?

A check of your soil might be a good idea, then you'd know for certain what was out-of-whack, but I understand that homeowners oftn don't like to spend money testing their lawn.

So, then you get to do trial and error instead.  Your choice.  I understnad, and won't get the "hurt feelings" that people so often like to imagine that I am going to have when you don't test with my lab.  Drives me crazy when people ascribe emotion and responses to me that I have never had.

So, trial and error -

Make a compost tea with kelp as a source of micronutrients.  Then split that tea into several parts.  The first of those parts, spray the tea as is in one area.

Add a fish hydrolysate that has high calcium concentration, like Organic Gem, or Geofish, to another part of the tea.  Spray in another section.

Add ferric citrate to another part of the tea, and spray in another section.

Watch plant response for a couple weeks.  If one section is clearly going the way you want, then you know what to add.  If you aren't seeing any of the sections respond, then the problem is either a different nutrient that you didn't try, or a biological one.  Both would indicate that you really need to do the soil chemistry and soil biology testing, or you will likely spend many, many more dollars without getting any closer to figuring out what's up.

OK?  Make sense?
