It is a unit custom manufactured by National Chemsearch. Their proportioner
used a 1 gallon jug with a pistol grip spary with the same sort of deflecto=
r
Gilmour uses. Actually, I once modified a hose end to work with a 5 gallon.
Key word here is deflector, it form a flat pattern. I like it because the
jug is 1 gallon and the rate is lower than the Gilmour.

I have found faucet pressures in the dozen communities I have had tested to
be in the 50-100 PSI range.

It is not unusual, in high value landscapes, to use undiluted tea. Careful
comparison of costs of traditional chemical applications with ACT show that
ACT is far cheaper, even undiluted.

I regularly use an injection system but never inject ACT. However we have
done many experiments with injecting ACT. Remember this is in an ornamental
setting. None of the Netafim emitters I use, for that matter none of ANY
brand I use, are appropriate for ACT injection. I can't seem to convince my
administration to put in a pivot. :>) Rainbird is testing a new emitter tha=
t
will allow injection of biology IF the chlorine is removed. This is a
landscape market product. All of the injection systems I have seen store
components in separate containers. The injection controller settings
determine rates for the individual products.

We regulary tank mix ACT with fertilizers, and with organic blends we have
not seen any damage as a result of osmosis. I originally, before really
having the knowledge, I worried about ACT going anaerobic in the piping
system. Since making those unfounded uniformed opinions public, I have foun=
d
that under most parameters in regular irrigation schedules there is no
problem. The challenge has been to find appropriate emitters and spray
nozzles.

Tom, what piece of siphoning equipment are you using here?

Thanks,

Judi

Continuous siphoning at fixed rate (1-1/2 oz per gallon).

I have a proportioner with the same nozzle and typical city water pressure
does not damage the biology.

Cholrine and chloramines will!

A very high dilution rate, a lot of water to get the tea coverage.

Municipal water supply will severely damage the biology!
