A fungal hyphae diameter of 1MM would be huge. Know doubt they exist
somewhere in the earth (climate to support that would be interesting).
I recollect what is seen by the unaided human eye not using a scope is
referred to as a rhizomorph which is  microbiological speak for a rope
(mass of) of fungal hyphae (invisible except to your third eye (joke,
maybe) and a microscope. 1MM yikes!
