Butch] It seems that you believe the value of ACT
and this group but are frustrated that there isn't
enough published scientific data to support your
confidence?

[Tom Jaszewski] There is no problem with my confidence, my successes have
been stellar and beyond my original expectations. The difficulty comes when
others are asked to make decisions affecting their livelihood based on
faith. I continue to see organic gardening, as an example, as anything but
mainstream. My personal goals involve moving this technology into a broader
acceptance. Perhaps that's viewed by some as egocentric and nay-saying, I
see it as continuing the discussion and developing the ability to address
the issues in forums where we might affect change. Not many of my peers are
willing to take the risks I took and need to see some of the same kinds of
data and support they got from the chemical industry.

Butch] This is such a broad statement that I can't
get my mind around it. Can you give a couple of
examples?

[Tom Jaszewski] What I meant here is that we are not a likely picture of
mainstream horticulture and agriculture. Most here believe in the principle=
s
espoused by Dr. E, but this isn't a faith movement. Many of us are working
hard to find, support, and fund better data. I have no problem with those
here that don't have that same need, but there are many more out there that
need accurate, defined and meaningful direction based on science.
