[compost_tea] Re: Searching for basic instructions on compost tea brewing
Some reflection on the subject of scientific based research compared
to common sense trial, error and anecdotal passing of learning made
me think of a few things.
NPK style farming is brought to us by modern scientific research,
along with all the proof and support that comes with it, not to
mention the destruction of the earth and our bodies. If we had
learned to grow things by truly watching how the Earth grows things
we may have realized that the soil does not need to be dug up every
year and we don't need to pump heavy nutrients to plants.
Modern scientific research methods have brought us genetically
modified produce (fish genes in tomatoes; can you imagine the
academics who buy into this?). Scientific research and the modern
western medical world denies the value of probiotics (or at best is
being dragged kicking and screaming). The best cure for cancer that
the majority of medical science has come up with is poison and broad
spectrum burning (radiation) courtesy of the companies supplying
these chemicals and apparatus in the guise of scientific studies.
Scientific studies have synthesized drugs (among them opioids; the
poppy plant is a useful herb which not only helps pain but heals
many maladies) and many other `solutions' which are a shallow
reflection of the real thing passed down through generations
anecdotally and now perhaps lost forever to the almighty buck.
