Why so hot a reaction, Ted ?

Well, I posted the design of the 'drip' brewer sometime back. Just take th=
at, make one and you can run your own tests. You could get a whole host of=
people doing it and it may be fun. If we don't find significant differenc=
es, however, we could end up looking pretty bad overall. I'm betting that =
the case is that standard recipes and decent aeration give a higher diversi=
ty which has a greater beneficial effect. I am prepared to be completely w=
rong though and that's OK. It would sure save me a lot making brewers if i=
t turns out that the difference is minimal.

I have decided against posting results here though. I'll post them on my w=
eb site.

By the way, Watson and Crick had a bet with Pauling about finding the struc=
ture of DNA first. Watson was convinced that Pauling would win and made an=
extra effort to find the solution first. Many good things can come from b=
ar bets. Besides, it's not the bet that counts but how the tests are run t=
hat determines whether the results are more/or less valid. If we elliminat=
e all other explanations are are left with the tea as the answer and the re=
sults can be duplicated, I don't think any amount of obfuscation will chang=
e the basic facts.
