A report some months ago stated that one of the largest sources of CO2 was agiculture. Not tractors. Rich black soil, exposed. Solar UV with O2 converted the exposed carbon of the soil to CO2. Is rich black humus subject to the same action? In Alaska the sun UV is filteres, reduced. Alaska Humis is covered by deep mulch. It would be stable.
