Tim, and others - I had only a summary simplified report prior to the question and answer report Perry Cutts just presented. Thanks, Perry. The test program Betsy accomlished was many times more complex with more potential answers than I had envisioned. I could have known research is never as simple as that simplified report made it. Are the conlusions different? I think not. Not as clear cut as I worded it.

As to cattle fattening faster on grain, Perry - I suppose so. But at what trade off?
If the Omaga 3 drops - major dissadvantage to an informed market.
If CLA drops - same
Is the cost higher on grain?
Is an informed market willing to pay more for the grass fed?

Zealot? I'm Hardly whispering compared to ACT competition - Monsanto etc. I Don't understand the reluctance to look with enthusiasm for traces of potential advantages that ACT may have.
Need obseraions be honestly reported as potential advantages? Damm right.
Need they be PROVEN advantages? Depends on whether we are claiming the observed results are absolute or whether they are results observed looking for confirmation by further testing, further observations. Is this a forum working in a developing field? Or is this a forum of
scientists, arms folded, waiting for absolute proof of any observations made?

Attending Elaines classes I am convinced that the SFW is important for many reasons. I tend to look for economic reasons that make it feasable for all concerned to move in that direction.
Health reasons to make SFW important enough so an informed market will know the value of organicaly grown food. I got involved with brewers to support the move toward organic I think is urgent. Will brewers make a lotta bucks? Not yet, not likely. Bob.

Bob,

Actually cattle gain way more weight on grain...that is the primary reason it is done.

Now, which is more desirable to purchase and which produces healthier animals is different all together.

You continue to distort the story and the science, and as Dave pointed out....you missed the MOST significant aspect (the conclusion) of the report that Betsy so kindly posted.
This selective perception is a detriment to what you truly wish to accomplish and to others who wish the same.

Could it say she will walk them to the butcher as grass fed finished beef instead of walking them skinny to the grain feeding coral? Which would you rather buy? Bob
