I think that Steve meant 6 ppm, which is 6 mg oxygen per liter, not 6% DO
6% dissolved oxygen would mean the brew is seriously anaerobic. Normal
percent oxygen is about 22% at sea level and room temperature.
At about 16% oxygen, you lose the aerobes, and facultative anaerobes win. At
about 8% oxygen, the true anaerobes start to grow.
