Re: [compost_tea] Milk and powdery mildew...
I'm just going off an experience last year
we applied four applications of milk in concert with ACT at around 6-14
leaves in cabernet sauvignon
the year was a normal to high PM index.
We were trailing no sulphur or copper for the season ( very ambitious!)
at the time of the second milk spray, there was visible PM and all the
application seemed to do was encourage it.
this was no scientific study, but we were onto the identification and
implementation of remedies.
Maybe a bombardment of ACT would of been the go, which is what I had planned
for this year, but I have not seen the PM this year. I havent sprayed milk
this year, but I have sprayed a heap of tea.
who knows? was it the tea? was it the no milk? or was it the year?
I was speaking to a colleage today about the milk and his take on it, was
whether the milk was sterilised or not?
There are no silver bullets in Ag.
You just have to have the timing right!!!
