I have not tested any part of this system period. My
first thought was to capture the waste water. I
assumed I would create a bog garden growing various
bog plants. I grow the perennial hosta seriously for
pleasure so I put a few in plus daylilies, pulmonaria,
sedge, ajuga and a few others that won't come to mind.
They are all growing like weeds which surprised me but
having set up this little project I wanted see what
would grow.
This works like a bog-septic system so at some point
it will clean the water. I'm growing at every point in
this 3 pond interconnected system with the same
result. With all of that said, I only mentioned it
because you indicated a severe shortage of water. I am
reasoning to what is happening in this system,
assuming that it is anaerobic at the bottom and
becoming less so as we get to the top which is well
above the water level.
