The problem is that there are a number of individuals out there who oppose
the use of this technology and who take advantage of "flaws" in the
scientific method, viz. "Prove to me that this product is 100% safe and
that no problems will ever come with its consumption." They generally
oppose the technology for emotional or religious reasons (i.e.,
non-scientific) -- this is not to say their opinions aren't worth anything;
I just wish they would be more honest about that fact when dealing with the
public. Say "I oppose this technology on moral grounds" rather than making
up some Frankenstein story to scare people. Take the high road, not the
low one.
