EPA SEEKS FELLOWSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR THE 
"SCIENCE TO ACHIEVE RESULTS" (STAR) PROGRAM - 
The Agency expects to award 50-100 graduate fellowships for 
masters and doctorate level students in environmentally-related 
fields of study.  The STAR program also includes grants and 
research centers - EPA November 1 News Release, which notes 
that the purpose of the STAR fellowship program is to defray the 
cost of environmental and science management education and 
encourage leadership in the nation's environmental science,
research, education, assessment, restoration and preservation 
efforts.  In addition to a $17,000 stipend, up to $5,000 in 
expense money and $12,000 for tuition and academic fees will 
be awarded to each fellowship recipient.  The deadline for 
application is Jan. 3, 1997.  For more information or to request

Center for Environmental Research and Quality Assurance
