Have Zaire's borders changed since 1984? In that year the United
Nations did a survey of Zaire's food production capacity which said
that nation could feed well over 200 million people using just
low-input farming. Throw enough fertilizer in there, and Sudan could
feed 2 billion people -- the area makes Sudan look downright resource
poor.
