Dear Dan,
One problem I can see with the use of chickens is that they would probably not
waste effort on searching out minute weed seeds such as those from Papaver and
Stellaria if wheat, barley, canola or oat seeds were available. So they may not
be as good at removing weed seeds as they were lost crop seeds.
