God bless America indeed! Let's go kill everything in the name of the
Almighty! That way, we can place the blame on a "higher" Authority when
the results of our actions blow up in our face! Hey, our puffy white
European ancestors did it! Why not us? Down with the heathens!!!!

Can't say that I agree with this one, either. As far as I have been
taught, man has, is, and always will have dominion over nature. BUT,
there are two types of dominion, flat-out tyranny and responsible
leadership. We as humans have leaned toward the former throughout
history, but in some cases, we have actually breached the latter, with
such projects as the wolf restoration in Yellowstone (notice I didn't
mention Idaho. Mixing wolves and ranchers was a disaster waiting to
happen, and consequently, with their unexpected spurt of numbers, hunting
will be introduced. That means trapping, too. More wolf casualties in the
name of economics. I love it.) So we as humans are not all evil and
nasty. We just have that capability; that doesn't nescessarily mean we
need to activate it, however. I hope none of ever do.

No, I am not going to kill myself out of the "humans bad, animals good!"
doctrine, but I will stand tall for helping this planet in whatever way I
can, be it protecting the wolves from hunting by writing letters, or
simply starting a recycling program in my neighborhood. Am I "bad" for
the environment because I am part of a species who has damaged the it? I
think not. Place the blame where it belongs. Then get busy. Nothing, and
I mean NOTHING, is accomplished through wanton and gratuitous moaning and
whining.
