I agree that climate and daylight are not the overarching determinants of
depression/suicide but the substantial amount of research on Seasonal
Affective Disorder (SAD) would lead one to believe that for susceptible
individuals, they do play a part. I also read that Finland had the
highest rate of depression in Europe. FWIW
