Looking for information on dry hog manure handling systems

Dear Sanet,

Regarding the multiple postings, I sent my message below out yesterday
only once. I ignored the messages that certain addresses were invalid.
However, I received two bcc copies yesterday, the first at 6:14:41 and the
second at 11:06:54. So it looks like the problem of multiple messages is
compounded by automatic duplicate (or more?) mailings of the originals. The
server does not realize that less (messages) is more (satisfying).

Subject: Looking for information on dry hog manure handling systems

Dear Sanet Users,

A colleague of mine with EPA's Region 7 in Kansas City, KS, asked me to
post a question to the Sanet group concerning raising hogs and handling their
manure. Does anyone know examples of hog farms that use dry manure handling
methods -- such as bedding, or compressed air to blow the manure down a
concrete slope into a trough? He remembers seeing the latter, maybe in the
1960's. Also, is there any information on raising hogs on bedding and the
economics of doing so? And how was the manure handled? Was it composted? So
far I have sent him the following papers:

Etc.
