Greetings....
I am in the process of gathering interesting and innovative environmental
studies or research projects where work has been done to restore distressed
soils, revegetate stripped land, and/or prevent nonpoint source pollution
through the use of compost.
The Council is building a reference of beneficial uses and applications of
compost, which will include, but not be limited to, the following areas:
--water conservation
--erosion control
--stream bank stabilization
--wetlands restoration & construction
--strip mine reclamation
--depleted lands restoration
--nutrient management (e.g. nitrogen and phosphorus runoff)
--contaminated soil remediation
If you have, or know of, an interesting project studying the benefits of
compost in land management, I would appreciate any project details you might
be able to provide.
Thank you all very much for your attention, and I apologize in advance for
any cross-postings of this missive.
