Hello.
My name is Peter Kramer. I am an Australian currently visiting British
Columbia Canada.
In mid October I will be traveling south to Central America via the West
coast of The U. S.. I am on a private study tour of sustainable
agriculture in temperate and tropical regions. I intend to travel through
The Yakima Valley in Washington , The Willamette Valley and southern
coastal Oregon, then through The Sacramento Valley in California.
My main interest and skill is in creating and improving soil fertility to
produce crops without the continual addition of soil inputs, organic or
chemical.
I would like to be able to visit farms, orchards, market gardens and or
dairies where the production is based partly or wholely on sustainable
methods.
My experience in temperate climates ( South-eastern Australia)includes,
hop growing, raspberry, dairy and nursery production. I seek the
opportunity to share experiences, results and observations with other
growers in these areas
My experience in sub-tropical and tropical(Coastal Queensland)climates
includes, banana growing, avocado and mango. I have used biological
techniques to grow many of the above with a reasonable degree of
success.I intend to visit Cuba to observe their research and results in
organic farming, then to Costa Rica to view banana production
If you are a producer yourself or are a member of an agency or Government
Department and are aware of any possible contacts could you please e-mail
