Re: Organic Foods Production Act Implementation

I would like to see this standard. If it is anything like NATIONAL ORGANIC
STANDARDS BOARD
FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Adopted June 1-4, 1994, in Santa Fe, New Mexico I would have to say good
job. You folks did a real good job. So post the Standards so we all know
what we are talking about.

As much as I hate to give up my certifiers standards it is true that
something is eather organic or not. Publishe it !

Some certifiers say you have to build your humus and some say you have to
get soil checks, and some say you have to do this or do that and although
they may make you a better organic farmer they are just viewpoints. I hate
to give them up my certifier and of course the state of ca. should not have
their own privite regesterion for organic farmers in that state because
organic is organic. How much money are you going to charge us because we are
organic? What extra tax and or burdens well you put of the folks that are
farming organic? The Certifier is taking money from us . Lots of money and
it is going up every year in of money we pay for inspection and
regesterations and the state of ca. is taking money from us because we are
organic so how much more will will the Feds take from us and how much more
bs do we have to go through to prove we are organic to the Feds. So post
The Standards already . We all want see what is going on. To think for 6000
years I did not have to pay anyone to be organic . Now I have to pay
protection money to three different groups and none of them lift a finger to
help me farm. They are only there to burden me with paper work and to steal
my hard earn money. It should not cost me one cent of protection money to
grow organic. Not one extra cent!!! You are right there is only one level
of organic. Why farmers that grow organic have to have a extra tax put on
them is BS.I can/t understand paper work and inspections to 3 diferent
groups all of whom you have to pay,pay pay. Where do these people get a
right to make a law that they can steal my money because I grow organic .
Every one has their hand out. Talk about Mafia and protection money .Every
day I don't know what is next. Bla Bla Bla your inspection cost just went
up bla bla bla now you need to do even more paper work. Bla Bla Bla now you
have to pay this much more. Bla Bla Bla now you have to pay the state bla
bla bla now you have to pay the feds. Bla Bla Bla. I never know what new
Bills will come in the mail now. and I never know who may stop by for a
cost me ,steal my money inspection.I have to pay regestration to this guy
and to that guy and this and that when will it ever End . When will it
ever end. I guess the day I quit telling people I am organic. I will have a
great weight taken off my back . . Get your had out of my pocket . Then
they want to say there is only one level of organic what does paying all
these people have to do with growing organic. And what are the standards
today and what will they be tomorrow or if the Rep. win or the Democrats or
joe blow gets a bee in his bonet, and what will it cost me to play this game.

Nw that I got that off my chest. Let us see the new standards and the fed.
law so I know if I can still afford to use the word organic. How much of my
human rights do I have to give up this time to use that word "organic"
>From what I have seen of the NATIONAL ORGANIC STANDARDS BOARD
FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS there does not seem to be any watering down to me.

>lowest common denominator will come into play.

No I think organic is organic even if you farm by neglect. If you are not
using non organic stuff you are organic . There is no lowest common
denominator. There may be better ways to farm organic but organic is organic.
So post the standards already .

My only argument is that you can make a fed. law or a state law telling me
I have to pay protection money to so many groups to farm organic. That
these folks in the fed. gov. or state can force someone out of the organic
growing by bleeding them out of their hard earned money is wrong. Not one
extra cent. .
