Interesting suggestion. I actually posted to the vermicomposting forum
asking if anyone knew how worms would respond to a diet that consisted
primarily of sawdust.  The only response so far suggested that it
might make good bedding.   Do you know if worms would respond well to
such a diet?  It seems unlikely or given the plentiful supplies of
sawdust I would have expected worms to be a popular way to convert
sawdust to compost.  But hey if it will work I'd sure like to know
about it.  What might be some good sources of protein?  I have heard
of some people using manure and another using the leftovers from beer
brewing.
