Re: Albrecht Soil Dabate

Albrecht worked with individual minerals because he was trying to prove
certain points, often about effects of each and combinations of certain
ones. But did you ever read that he said, repeatedly, that nutrients did
NOT have to be SOLUBLE to be absorbed???????
That belies the whole ion absorption syndrom.

It is a pity he did not live long enough to learn HOW that was true--that
plant root hair cells can take in whole molecules of any size, particles,
and even a whole bacterium, by endocytosis.

The burden of his work, in toto, was that there were certain proportions
of mineral contents in plants that were good or bad, and he figured that
calcium was the one needed in most amount. His statement, then ridiculed,
has now been corroborated by current research. There are now whole books
on the subject of how important calcium is.
I made a point of, in the Primer UPDATE, of quoting some of these
points from the literature.

I have tried repeatedly to get Mr. Cantisano to drop the old cation stuff,
which is part of the chemicals method of growing, and it is HYPOCRITICAL
to pretend to support organic method and then resort to advising with
chemicals-growing methods.

He bought the book, but apparently did not read it, because he just asked
me for some articles on endocytosis, to use for some Guatemalan growers,
when the info he needed is right in the book. Of course, he could easily
drop over to UCD and get copies of the newer articles on the subject.
Well, never mind, he is a good guy.
