Re: Ecological Economics and Entropy
Reading from a computer screen, I'm learning, is far more difficult
than from a book.
Hanson, bless his entropic soul, publishes articles by scientists who
actually do research in ecology, then people blame Hanson for what
they say. It's "what Hanson says is wrong," "Hanson's definition
makes no sense," etc. etc.
Is it possible that the thousands of scientists who do research
in ecology are all a bunch of ideological jerks?
More than once, groups of distinguished scientists have posted
warnings. Who am I to take more seriously: the bright xxxxx's who
post here, or the many experts who warn us of ecological hazards?
(For "xxxxx" insert whatever you wish - do you own insulting or
complimenting, don't wait for me.)
New Thought for the day: The Cassandras are best at setting up the
bowling balls, the Pollyanna's are the ones who knock them down.
Oh, I'd better explain that or xxx will be confused.
"New Thought" is a positive-thinking philosophy (see my Quimby book
on the web).
"Cassandra" thinks the world is coming to disaster and enumerates the
reasons. (Her Greek credentials are good, but she, like JH, is ignored.)
"Polyanna" is the positive thinker and can fix things in good spirit.
We must have both. We do have both. So we can all feel pollyannish.
