John, all of their shit that I've ever seen assumed that water went
sideways.  
 
In California currently pumping it uphill costs more ergs than letting
it run downhill.
 
In an extreme versionof this sort of stoo-pid thought we have recently
had a plan for pumping James Bay into Lake Ontario -- blithely
ignoring a 902.39 (I read it off my altimeter)  foot difference in
altitude.
 
Who lets these people out of grade 3?
