Re: A Suggestion

Charles Benbrook suggested splitting alt.sustainable.agriculture into
3 or more moderated lists to siphon off the junk currently filling
it up. Most of the junk seems to be coming from cross posts from
several more "nonsense" or "politics" oriented newsgroups for what
thats worth. As long as they continue crossposting here and have
enough interest in the other groups to keep typing that part of
the junk will not go away. Sci.agriculture seems to be getting
the same stuff.

Anyway I think Charles' proposal has a lot of merit but moderating a
list takes considerable time by volunteer(s). Who wants to do it?

I started the sustag-L (principles of sustainable agriculture) list
a few years back, before most of you were on the internet, when
alt.sustainable.agriculture was nothing but a place for various
fanatics with slightly differing views to exchange flames. Sustag-l
goes thru busy periods and quiet periods (quiet now). It is moderated
and no flames are allowed, everyone must be respectful of other
individuals or be quiet. Of course ideas may be critiqued, that is
the point of all this. Anyway consider moving "serious" threads over
there. Send a standard subscribe message to listproc@listproc.wsu.edu
or if that is not comprehensible, send your name and email address to
sustag@tricity.wsu.edu and I will add you.
