Nice explanation of your reasoning. I tend to agree with you. The only
rights we really have are granted by government. In the USA, your rights are
granted under the US Constitution and various supplementary statutes. At
this time, rights to things like food, shelter, and medical care are not
covered (excepting emergency care), and for good reason. Citizens do have
certain rights under the law, but society is in no way obligated to feed
healthy, able-bodied adults, although many people in this society feel that
the world (or the government) owes them things like food and shelter. You do
have the right to keep or eat the food you grow or purchase, but rights to
food basically end there.
