Re: post/mailing list

I think, again in re April's message, that the permaculturist movement
should remember that long ago, when I was 30 some years younger, J I
Rodale started the organic movement in the USA. Dr. Mollison started his
permaculture promotion later, and today on the internet seems to have
taken over most of what one calls organic method, because the ones who
logically would be doing that is Rodale Press, and Rodale does not intend
to pay for all that this would entail.

Permaculture is basically an organic method with variations. The basis of
anything that has to do with growing food simply has to deal with
fertility of the soil, no matter how you arrange and rearrange.

Also, remember, the native populations, without formal educations, learned
over the centuries, by experience, what kinds of plants needed shade,
which could stant the competition of others, which could be harvested
easily by hand and which needed hard digging, etc etc.

Dr. Mollison has done a super job, but organic method has to underlie all
of it in some way or another.
