I've seen snails used in the Philippines as feed for ducks. This was on a
small commercial duck farm, raising ducks for eggs. The snails were golden
snails, a rice pest. They were collected from the rice fields by children,
who were paid a small sum for them. The snails are large with a thick
shell, and they were pounded with a wooden mallet before being fed to the
ducks. The ducks seemed to like them very much.
