Solis,

The reason atropine helps your GI problems is because it is a muscarinic 
blocking agent.  Your digestive tract mainly is innervated by neurons with 
muscarinic receptors so you will calm down the motility, secretions, etc....  
One big problem, you have muscarinic receptors all over the body.  You will 
get some serious side effects and possibly fatal if you mess around and take 
too much.  Also, your body will develop a tolerance over time and give you 
some nasty rebound effects.  Do not put a band-aid over the problem, find the 
cause.  I suggest you go to a reputable gastroenterologist to seek out the 
cause and go from there.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic and could do you more harm than good if it is 
used improperly.  It is a wide spectrum antibiotic which could disrupt your GI 
flora which could add to your problems.  I would not use it unless it was 
prescribed because you are treating a specific infection.  In other words, get 
some more info from your doctor or seek a second opinion.
