St. John's Wort questions

Thanks for the message.

I have read many good things about St. John's Wort as a natural
antidepressant, so I decided to give it a try. I have discontinued using
it after two days because I started feeling bad. I am afraid that I may be
allergic to it. Unfortunately, I am allergic to many plants (I have hay
fever and food allergies) and I suspect that this may be one of them.
After a few days I plan to try it again in very small doses.

However, if you do not have my allergy problems, you may be able to use it
without difficulties. There are several health food stores around town
such as Good Life that carry it. I understand it may take several weeks
for it to go into effect.

I am concerned about possible interaction with prescription
anti-depressants that you are taking. You better be careful and go slow if
you are taking other drugs now.

Here are a couple of web sites you may want to check out:

Good luck.
