London, Jr." Subject: Re: Quinoa : information request (fwd) My information on quinoa is based on having lived and worked in Bolivia in the 1960s and 1970s. I suggest that you contact the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville MD for information on the topic. also try Abstracts of Tropical Agriculture, World Agricultural Economic and Rural Sociology Abstracts. where I lived, quinoa was usually planted in the end rows of corn fields. Rarely did I ever see whole fields of the crop. It was traded extensively in the local markets. I usually ate it in soups. About 5 years ago the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, sponsored a quinoa market exploration study for which I did some research. I'm sure the document is still available or at least is in the archives of the Market Development Branch, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Good luck. _________________________________________________________________ Tomas L.
