Organic farming project manager
(conversion project co-ordinator and business analyst/consultant)

Applications are invited for the above post as part of our expanding organi=
c
farming-related work. The main duties involve the co-ordination of the
conversion of a 40 ha lowland livestock unit to organic management in
liaison with farm, teaching and research staff, the collection of financial
and physical data from the unit and other organic farmers, the analysis of
farm accounts, compilation of reports, provision of advice to farmers, the
development of related extension activities and participation in associated
teaching and research.

Candidates should have a degree, HND or similar qualification in
agriculture, agricultural economics, agricultural business management, or a
related subject. Experience in farm management and livestock production
(including practical farming experience), recording and analysing farm
accounts, familiarity with computer spreadsheets, and familiarity with
organic farming would be further advantages.

The appointment will be a full-time one, for a fixed-term of two years with
a probationary period lasting six months. Subject to funding, an extension
of the contract may be possible. The appointment will be on the Research
Grade 1A scale =A314,317 - =A321,519 p.a. (pay award pending).
