Hi. I work for Ralph Nader's Government Purchasing Project and we are
putting together a guidebook for public agencies on how they can change
their wood and paper consumption practices through such
strategies as reduction, reuse, recyling and replacement.

We are looking for some examples of public agencies who have
successfully employed these strategies in building design and
construction. We are also interested in any municipal wood
waste/pallet/furniture reuse and recycling programs, and/or any
progessive building codes adopted by states and localities.

For example, I have reviewed the draft Sustainable Building Development
Guidelines for the City of Santa Monica. Is this considered the forefront
of building reform? And how about the City of Austin? I heard they are
taking the lead in this area as well.

Thanks for your help and I will post information on how people can receive
a copy of the guide when it is completed.
