GBlist: Andersen Renewal Update 8-11-97

Interested Parties.

I did some inquiring during a recent visit to Andersen in MN. Here is what I
could find:

1. Andersen DOES have some information about the "renewable" aspects of
Renewal. For example, an "environmental" brochure describing the product and
goals, currently including ~40% post manufacturing waste, etc. as well as
info on the company's recent environmental accomplishments and recognitions
(by EPA and others). Contact them at 1-800-426-4261 and ask for the
"Environmental Brochure".

2. They are either building a web site or upgrading their current one to
talk more about Renewal. Because it is a fairly new venture, they are being
a bit "conservative" in their advertising. (My guess is that when the public
gets hold of the "reclaimed" aspects of the material, superior energy and
structural performance, and the "cradle to cradle" nature of the business
plan, the agressiveness of these messages will have to change to meet the
waiting latent demand...)

3. You can also contact their Public Affairs department (same 800 number)
but you will probably still only get the standard environmental brochure for
a while.

Still inquiring. I'll keep the list posted on any new materials developed
that better describes the product, materials, processes and biz plan.
