Re: [seedsavers] A Modest Proposal

This is a great idea, and we should go for it. I will help any way I can.

However, it will should be a supplement to, but not a replacement for,
the SSE yearbook. There are many listing members who do not do the
internet thing. It would be a great thing to try to find a way to
bring such folks into the loop. I have personally met many elderly
seed savers who belong to SSE but are not "connected" who maintain
very nice collections. These folks need to be considered.

Finally, I would recommend that caution be employed in the
organization of the group and its management. For several years I have
been hearing bits and pieces of info here and there on various boards
that seem to support the statements of the Advisory Members in their
letter as posted on the SSE website. These are folks who have given of
themselves to SSE over the decades, and who also work sacrificially
toward the cause in their personal lives. Their statement should not
be discounted lightly.
